I'll Drink to That!

How to enjoy a night at the bar (or day, because i'm not judging!) and avoid the unwanted sugar and calories!

My go-to drink:

Vodka, Seltzer with extra lime

Note: Tonic water and seltzer water are VERY different! Tonic water is full of sugar. Seltzer water is regular old carbonated water. Be sure to specify when ordering that you want sparkling water and not tonic.

Healthy Swaps for classic cocktails:

MARGARITA:

ask for it without the syrup (usually made with simple syrup, or agave nectar). leave off the sugar/salt on the rim. order extra lime!

Moscow Mule:

see if diet GINGER-ALE is available. ask for it without the syrup/SWEETENER (if used).

Mojito: 

ask for it without the sugar or ask to use sugar-free sweetener (like stevia) if possible. ask for seltzer/soda water instead of tonic water.

long island iced tea:

ask for diet soda.

Whiskey sour:

sUBSTITUTE SYRUP FOR SUGAR-FREE SWEETENER (LIKE STEVIA) IF POSSIBLE.

bloody mary:

ask for half the amount of tomato juice.
